The Cottages
Holidays at a farm, deep in the forest but close to the ocean and Arcachon Bay beaches, what a dream! Bordered by an oakgrove and huge lawns, Gîte le Chêne (3 bedrooms, 6 sleeps), Gîte les Pins (2 bedrooms, 5 sleeps, PRM acces and equipment) and dormitory "les Nénuphars" (4 sleeps) are adjacent but not overlooking. One can rent either one or two cottages at a time, or two cottages with the dormitory. Each cottage has a covered terrace, a deck terrace and a lovely lawn with a picknick table under the oaks.For group rentals of all the commodities, it is possible to rent a 5x8 M party gazebo to share meals outside in low season.
The oakgrove, the waterlily and frog pond and the endless pine forests around the farm bring serenity and happiness. Parents can relax, children can play, or the other way round! The pool, trampoline, table-football, the bowling ground, volley-ball, badminton, swings and lots of board games and toys will keep young and old busy. Our hens, goats and guinee pigs are a good excuse for a little dayly stroll.
When you arrive beds are made, bed, bath and kitchen linen are included in the price. You can shop for vegetables, cheese, pâtés, honey and vegetable oil at our farm shop, and in the morning we deliver bread on demand. If you travel by electric car, you can charge it next to our shop. Our solar panel equipment covers most of our needs in electric power.
Taussat, Cassy, Lanton and their sandy beaches are at 15 minutes away by car. During low tide the bay almost totally empties and the sun warms the sea bottom, where with high tide the sea bottom warms the incoming water. This and the bay's gentle slope make it an ideal swimming spot for the little ones, sometimes as early as in March. With older children a trip to the endless guarded (summer) ocean beaches with its fresh water and waves will be invigorating. Enjoy a picnic at the shore until sunset, when nature is showing its breathtaking beauty...When you come home at the farm, cheeks rosy, the memory of the sun still on your skin and your head filled with happy moments, the silence of the forest embraces you for a reparing night of sleep.
